Falmouth Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Falmouth, Cornwall, England, UK)

Picture of MarinaCornwall is known throughout England for its exceptionally mild climate and the weather in the Falmouth area is no exception.

Visitors arriving during the summer months will be extremely unlucky if they do not experience back-to-back days of solid sunshine and beautiful blue skies.

Even in the winter, Falmouth's weather is especially pleasant and at this time of the year, coastal trails and beach walks become particularly popular. Many people choose to visit Falmouth out of season, when the weather is still agreeable and the town is considerably quieter.

Both spring and autumn are particularly good seasons to visit this town, although the night-time temperatures do feel somewhat cooler than the balmy summer evenings.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Of course, most visitors to Falmouth arrive in the summer months, when temperatures usually stay well above 20°C / 68°F, and often considerably higher. The nearby beaches soon begin to fill up, when people lie back, relax and enjoy the sunny weather. Even when rain arrives, the showers tend to be over as quickly as they started, although they can be rather heavy. After rain, the summer climate often feels rather more comfortable and less humid.

Winters are rather short-lived in Falmouth and spring soon arrives several weeks early than more northern towns in England, such as York and Newcastle. This is clearly apparent, when daffodils begin flowering at Christmas and lawns continue to grow, needing to be mowed all through the year.
